Join NEO Roller Derby!

If you are interested in joining NEO we require you already have the skills required by WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) to skate in a bout. The skills are (INCLUDE WFTDA MIN SKILL REQ) If you want to join NEO and it’s not a round up time and you don’t have skills we recommend joining wRECk Roller Derby. wRECk is a great place for new skaters to learn the basics and maybe even obtain your WFTDA skills! For more information on wRECk visit their website at on facebook or

email Human Resources

Refs: Both male and female

Score/Stats/Penalty Keeper: Like to keep baseball stats? Why not maintain stats for us? Not only would we need you during our bouts, but also during some scrimmages, practices and away bouts. Tracking includes lineups, scores and the penalties reported by the refs.

Penalty Timing Officials: Times penalties and assists refs in ensuring a team skates short when they have to. Not only would we need you during our bouts, but also during some scrimmages and practices.

Membership Requirements:

Must be a woman, 18 of years if age or older, that can commit to 3 practices a week & periodic PR events to promote the league and the sport of roller derby.

Bring to registration:

Required Attendance

Starting January 2010, our regular attendance policy will be in effect. If you want to bout (and let's face it, we ALL want to bout!) there is a MINIMUM requirement of 75% of all available practices which means you'll need to attend a minimum of approximately 9 a month. Expect to attend 3 practices per week and attend occassional PR events once you join the league. The league runs on the time of NEO skates volunteer to its committees, so if you are unable to make the time commitment, you may want to consider joining as a ref or other crew member.

Required Gear:

Once you have decided to become a member of the NRRG you will need your own gear!

Where to Get Your Gear:

Any sporting goods store should have some of the needed gear, however kneepads, skates & wheels are more difficult to find. "We recommend getting fitted for skates verses buying them online. Skates will fit very differently tan any shoe you have ever worn. Use our years of experience (and unnecessary hard won blisters) to avoid mistakes we made & get a properly fitted skate!!!"

Monthly Dues:

$40 monthly dues will be collected no later that the 15th of every month. This goes towards the cost of the practice space, bout venues, supplies, etc.
